Most who know me will tell you I’m not usually a fence-sitter. With this product I am exactly that!
Hydraphase Intense Serum is one of those products that you equally love and hate all at the same time. The bottle itself is the sort of bottle I love. Heavy and solid, but the downside is that the bottle is completely opaque. This means you can’t tell how much of the product you have used, and you run the risk of running out with nothing to replace it. Like I did. I’m not a product hoarder, and so I rarely have things lined up ready to go. If a bottle starts to run low I purchase something to replace.
The first morning I put it on, I had to go back and look at the bottle to see if I was using it correctly. I thought I had put hand sanitiser on my face. Yes you’ve guessed it, it has alcohol in it. The first couple of times I used it I could definitely feel the alcohol evaporate off of my face. I was worried that the serum would dry my already dry skin out further. I was also worried that I may have a reaction. It did neither to be honest.
Here’s where the love starts. Beyond the feeling of the evaporation of alcohol, I actually really loved how the serum felt on my face. On more than one occasion I forgot to put on my day moisturiser. That’s not to say the serum is heavy, because it’s totally not. It’s a lightweight texture that sinks in very quickly. It doesn’t leave a greasy residue on the skin either. It just leaves your skin feeling soft and moisturised. Hence why I forgot to add my daily moisturiser.
I just cannot make up my mind about this product. Whilst I wasn’t a huge fan of the initial feeling on application, I did like the long-term results on my skin. So as I said at the beginning, I’m on the fence about this product! Have you tried it? Let me know what you thought.
