One of my biggest pet peeves is when products you love suddenly disappear from the shelves.
Of course I understand if it’s not selling, it doesn’t make any sense for the brand to continue with it. Doesn’t stop me feeling really grrr about it and of course having to find a replacement. This happened to me about 2 years ago when my usual Clinique night cream suddenly disappeared. So for the last few years I’ve bounced around trying to find a replacement I love.
I had been dabbling with some lower end creams but none were quite cutting the mustard. So last month I decided to spend a little more money and purchased the Clarins Extra-Firming Night Cream. Now this cream is NOT cheap, it’s upwards of £55.00 depending on where you purchase it. I have to say though, it is worth it!
It’s a very dense, greasy cream but soaks in relatively quickly. The one thing I would say is that you have to wait awhile for your serums and retinol to soak in before applying this. The reason being is does tend to skate around on top of them, and it’s hard to rub in. My skin always feel so soft in the morning, and my complexion looks bright and even. If you don’t like the heavy, greased christmas turkey feel on your face, this definitely isn’t the cream for you! If you are like me and like to go to bed slathered like the aforementioned christmas turkey, then I definitely recommend this cream.
It’s smoothed out some of my developing deeper wrinkles, and just generally improved the condition of my skin. You’ll remember that I said in my Summer Face 2018 blog post that I had been struggling with my skin of late. I believe this has a gone a long way to sorting those problems out.
So if you are in the market for a new night cream, consider this!
